Fotos from Hamburg shot to our attention in 2006 with their self-titled debut album earning them well-deserved recognition and praise from none other than Broken Social Scene’s Kevin Drew…amongst others.
Well, now, drunken rants at your friends about bands at 5am in the middle of the street, waving a bottle of beer around more dangerously than you realise, gesticulating wildly (no matter how elegant you think you’re being in your argument, it always looks slightly wild from afar) while you defend your beloved bands reputation probably is one thing, ranting in the middle of a Broken Social Scene show, is another. Kevin Drew had a rant. Most of the crowd wished he’d just shut up and get on with it, it was raining slightly and we all had a wet tents to look forward to. That said the point was made, eventually, that Fotos, though singing in german, had caught people’s attention with their passionate live shows.
